Jog'r Egg Nog'r

So for those of you who don't know, J is training for a half marathon right now. The big race is in February, but this weekend was the first of several competitive races to gear up for the big one. He did so great!! I was really proud of him. The race was called the Jog'r Egg Nog'r and was in Dallas at White Rock Lake. It was a 5K (that's 3.1 miles for all you metric system challenged individuals). The biggest run he's done so far is 5 miles, but this race was to get him used to running with lots of other people. J is training with a friend of ours and they run together every Saturday, so this wasn't too different. Except that this time the whole family loaded up in the car to go watch him run, and he had to avoid being trampled at the start of the race. J usually runs about a 10 minute mile, so Miss A and I trekked to the finish line and waited, I was expecting to see him at about 30 minutes. I looked at the clock and it read 26 minutes and who did I see but J and his friend, Mr. B. Mr. B finished a few seconds before J, but J finished with a time of 27:11, that is a little more than an 8 minute mile!!! He was cookin'! So here is the photographic evidence!
