Imitation is the Greatest Form of Flattery
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...She's a chip off the old block...like Mother, like daughter...you get the picture. I have always been a reader, I'll read just about anything I can get my hands on, including books, magazines, cereal boxes, jehovah witness literature, whatever. Miss A also likes to read. Or maybe just look at pictures, whatever. I try to read to her a few times a day, and lately, when I am occupied, she crawls on the couch and reads to herself. The other day I was making dinner and I hadn't heard from her in a few minutes. This is usually a very bad thing. So I look around to see if I can catch her up to no good, and this is what I found the little angel doing.

I especially like that she had her phone right next to her. She's got it down. Hopefully no one thinks that I spend all my time on the couch neglecting my child, because I really only retreat there when she has completely worn me out (which is happening more and more, I'm losing weight and getting more energy, but this kid is like the engergizer bunny on speed.)
One thing we are battling big time is learning that we need to always sit on the couch. I mean geez, she doesn't see Jason or me climbing on the couch like it's a jungle gym, so I have no idea why she thinks it's so fun, but she does. I think I say, "put your bottom down" about 50 times a day. She'll figure it out. For awhile I would pull her down by her legs, so she was sitting, but that was a fun game and she would just giggle and stand back up on the couch waiting for me to do it again. Smart mommy figured out after a few attempts that I was just making standing up more fun. Now, she gets two tries to sit, and then she is on the floor. It's working a little better, we're making headway, but as you can see, the little one is still winning the sofa battle...
