Big Girl Bed...

We have officially moved our dear girl out of the crib and into the big girl bed. Hooray. So far it's going pretty well. Naps are a little more difficult and sometimes we hear a thud in the middle of the night, but so far no broken bones or anything.

Most of the time she fights going to bed a little, but then Daddy comes in and takes care of business. The "wait until your father gets home" thing is totally going to work for me later. I don't know why, but when daddy says "jump" she says "how high?"; when I say "jump" she says, "no, mommy." oh well. Also, she sometimes calls me Meg. I don't like this. I am not some new hip parent who wants to be called by my first name so we can be peers. I am her mommy dammit.

Anyway. The other thing that she does now that she's in the big girl bed is that she plays with her stereo all the time. Jason and I will be downstairs and all the sudden we will hear classical music at full volume. We run upstairs and she has pulled her chair in front of the shelves that her stereo sits on and she is changing the CD (she figured out how to do that somehow) and playing the music loud. My favorite part about this is that she refers to music as "tunes". We'll be in the car and she'll say, "tunes, mommy" and that means I'm listening to NPR and she wants music.

My favorite part of the big girl bed is that now I can give her a kiss in her sleep. I LOVE that. I kissed her the other night and she smiled in her sleep. Sometimes I want to eat her with a spoon I love her so much. That was one of those moments.

Here's a picture of the big girl bed...
